Nothing would work without them: The voluntary helpers, who sell drinks, manage the audio engineering and lighting technology, the pitching and striking of the tent. There are numerous pursuits to be done, before the first artists can come into the limelight. At first there is the transport of the whole circus equipment to the performance location, followed by the setup of the main tent and the smaller awning. Then the interior finish and decoration follows, after that the installation of the techniques and then even more work has to be done! The day after the performances everything has to be dissembled again and the Circus Sambesi moves on to the next location. There are never enough helping hands, therefore new members are always welcome! It doesn’t matter if helping is a singular issue, when the Circus Sambesi is located at your hometown, or if you are helping the whole season: Some are said to have had animalistic fun, and since there are no animal shows in the Circus Sambesi…
